Scargill Primary School Boiler Replacement

The Mechanical services for Scargill Primary School were designed and installed by NOVUS Mechanical Limited, undertaken as a Main Contractor,

The mechanical works on site were Started July 2021.

The existing boiler heating and domestic hot water generating equipment were all replaced along with substantial pipework section for the reconfiguration of the services.

The works comprised a boiler replacement scheme within the existing confides of the remote plant room located to the rear of the main school building, the existing boilers were configured to serve three heating circuits for the whole school. The replacement scheme has been configured to connect to the existing heating circuit at exits the plant room, with new ancillary plant including Pumps, Pressurisation unit, expansion vessels with the addition of an “X Pot” to protect new modern equipment from existing distribution, areas to be served by new plant can be categorised a follow, :

Install a new natural gas supply to suit new boilers and domestic water generator with in the plant room.

Low temperature hot water Heating constant temperature and variable (CT&VT) distribution with in the plant room from boilers to plant room entry isolation points.

New replacement boiler and water heater separate flue systems.

New boiler control panel, with modifications to existing site wide network that will incorporate new boilers, water heater, pumps, pressurisation unit

New heating pressurisation unit,

New X Pot side stream filter to protect new plant and equipment

New heating distribution pumps from Grundfos

New domestic hot water generator.
